Working for some of the nation’s top publications, I have covered some big events: presidential speeches, hurricanes and basketball championships. But I have learned that sometimes the small events mean the most: the first time a groom sees his bride enter the church, the last time a father kisses his little girl goodbye, the tears of a grandmother seated in the first pew.
